Primary purpose of this position is to pick up and deliver tractors and trailers to, from, and around the dealership. This position also follows processes to keep campus parking in order including weekly lot checks.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority):

  • Safely transport dealership inventory and customer owned equipment as directed.
  • Correctly account and invoice time to cover a minimum on 110% time on the job.
  • Proactively determine what vehicles need to be prepared for the driver shuttle team, including taking and uploading photos, tagging all units, and ensuring that each vehicle as Truck Country mud flaps.
  • Work with shuttle team when problems develop with vehicles being transported.
  • Check in and inspect Freightliner Corp trades and inventory for pick up.
  • Alert manager when lot process is not being followed and proactively correct if possible.
  • Represent the dealership in an effective, positive, respectful manner with all customers, coworkers and suppliers.
  • Act as part of a team by offering or asking for help when needed.
  • Set and achieve challenging goals and strive to continuously build knowledge and skills.
  • Take direction from various individuals.
  • Follow all dealership safety and company policies.
  • Regular on-site attendance is required.
  • Other related duties as required and assigned.

 

Work Environment:

  • Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and load noises.
  • Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, wet or humid conditions (non-weather), working in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.

 

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distant vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; work in a supine position under a vehicle; stoop, kneel, twist or crouch.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk and sit.
  • Able to communicate with others through talking and hearing.
  • Occasionally required to use sense of smell.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Education, Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Class A CDL preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge needed to read and input to Excel spreadsheets, and charge time after training.
  • Able to balance team and individual responsibilities
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and technical repair documentation; Able to write routine correspondence;
  • Able to speak effectively to customer or co-workers.
  • Able to adjust to frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
