The Internal Auditor audits dealership internal practices to verify compliance in Sales, Parts and Service Departments. Completes an audit report card at the end of each audit and reviews the report with the VP Audit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority):
- Travel required to 27 dealerships in, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.
- Must be willing to travel three weeks per month across six months of the year. Overnight travel is required (Approx 30-40 nights per year).
- Conduct one of three departmental audits each trip to the location, conducting each of the three audits twice per year.
- Administer company expense reporting program and approve expense reports.
- Other duties as required and assigned.
- Maintain regular attendance.
Work Environment:
- Ability to sit frequently and for long durations.
- Ability to operate a vehicle to and from destinations over long distances.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
- Company vehicle is provided for travel.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Qualifications:
- Four-year college or university degree; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be willing to travel 3 weeks out of each month, some of the travel overnight.
- A clean driving record is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft word processing software; Microsoft Excel; Procede business software; Microsoft Outlook and contact management systems.
- Reliable, motivated and driven to deliver quality workmanship.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
