Provide a range of services to the parts and service departments utilizing tools to help achieve goals and objectives, customer retention, efficiency, and profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority):
- Sell parts over the counter and via telephone to wholesale and retail customers. Conduct regular telephone solicitation on assigned wholesale accounts and promote additional parts sales by suggesting related items and seasonal lines.
- Schedule work into the shop via telephone and customer direct contact, record condition of the vehicle, and complete a write-up indicating the type of work needed based on initial SRT.
- Interact with customers as dictated by day-to-day business following the principles of the Customer Bill of Rights, inform customers when special orders are received, and provide customer communication using all aspects of Uptime Pro.
- Focus on customer’s expectations, predict and prevent potential problems, and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved customer satisfaction and revenue.
- Assist the service manager in assigning work to technicians.
- Review and close repair orders are needed.
- Clean, revise, and update parts displays as directed.
- Initiate credit applications for new accounts and check credit requests versus status lists.
- Check for recalls and determine appropriate payment type.
- Determine correct parts numbers and “pick” parts for orders received.
- Arrange for delivery or shipment of parts as required.
- Prepare and cost parts invoices, properly identifying eligible wholesale customers. Complete and scan all necessary work authorizations, invoices, and quality inspection forms in daily.
- Help maintain orderly parts stock.
- Assist with regular parts inventories and the selection of parts for return under the parts obsolescence protection program.
- Recommend layout improvements to the parts manager and assist in physical re-arrangement of layout.
- Attend group training sessions as required.
- Maintain a professional working relationship with co-workers and management at the dealership.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- Maintain regular on-site attendance.
Work Environment:
- Frequently exposed to mechanical parts.
- Seldomly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibrations.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 85 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Capable of dealing intelligently with customers both in person and on the phone.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education, Skills & Knowledge Required:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs. (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
- Reliable, motivated, and driven to deliver quality workmanship and superior customer experience.
