Truck Country, one of the largest Freightliner and Western Star dealer families in the U.S., is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to join our team. This role supports the Service Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, driving customer satisfaction, and leading a high-performing service department.
What You’ll Do
- Support and assist the Service Manager in achieving departmental goals.
- Manage and resolve customer concerns and disputes with professionalism.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability for service staff and technicians.
- Monitor technician performance, efficiency, training, and development.
- Ensure safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Oversee service scheduling, authorizations, tooling, and facility needs.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of technicians.
- Manage follow-up on repairs, comebacks, and timely issue resolution.
- Support budgeting, incentives, and department performance tracking.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
Physical & Work Environment
- Indoor/outdoor shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Regular onsite attendance is required.
