The Body Shop Technician is responsible for performing body work and general repairs on class 6, 7, and 8 trucks.

1st & 2nd shift opportunities

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority):

  • Communicate effectively with customers to determine needs and advise of work to be done.
  • Perform necessary repairs and adjustments using tools and other necessary equipment.
  • Complete repair orders, fuel tickets, timecards, expense reports, and other documentation as required.
  • Purchase all parts and supplies through Truck Country when at all possible.
  • Drive vehicles within company property and on public roads as required.
  • Observe safety rules and regulations, shop rules, company policy, and other instructions from management.
  • Regular onsite attendance is required.
  • All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

 

Work Environment:

  • Indoor and outdoor environment.
  • Frequently exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, paint and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.

 

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as required to perform the essential functions of the position.

 

Education, Skills and Knowledge required:

  • Graduation from an accredited diesel mechanic or body repair trade school or the equivalent of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Have minimum tool inventory as specified.
  • Must have the ability and desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices involved with repair of diesel trucks.
  • Knowledge of basic policies and procedures that pertain to body work.
  • Ability to work independently and set own schedule to meet customer needs.
  • Ability to handle customer issues and concerns with tact and diplomacy in daily operations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with customers, employees, and vendors.
  • Ability to incorporate the company’s mission into day-to-day operations.
